We will teach you how to easily develop your food idea and acquire an essential mindset for transition. This course is developed for a broad range of food professionals - people working in the food sector - that want to engage with the challenges of a changing food system.

In this course, we help you easily develop your food idea. We take you through a step by step approach and encourage you to make important strategic decisions, to make sure that you and your idea are on the right track.

Prototyping is a lifelong skill that will prove to be applicable to multiple ideas and challenges you might come across.

Meet your trainer

Maarten Essenburg believes we should not forget to play. He founded the creative collective Kamp Vuur, hosts a podcast about live lessons, brews craft beer and helps young creatives in making a living doing what they love, without losing their soul.

Over the years he mastered the skill of designing and facilitating strategic workshops and learned the power of having a prototyping mindset. For Food Hub he has spread that mindset while engaging with a wide variety of students.

Meet your moderator

Lelani Lewis will take you through this course from A to Z. As a food entrepreneur and founder of several food businesses herself, Lelani understands the process of transforming an idea into an actual company.

Lelani is founder of Whisk Food Studio, busy writing a cookbook and organizes interactive pop-up dinners exploring the culinary history of the Caribbean. Lelani: "The more you try, the more you fail, the more you know which way you need to go."

What do I need to take this course?

You need a digital device, internet and an idea. That's the beauty of it: you can take the course in the comfort of your own home, in your own time. We do recommend that you print the coursebook (which is sustainably designed so that it won't take to much ink).

How long does the course take?

This course is based on self paced learning. You can take as little or as much time as you want. However, we suggest you to divide the course workload into 3-5 separate moments.

When can I start?

Your course login will be available from March 15. After that, you can start any time you want.

What if I am not satisfied with the course?

We are confident about the quality of our education, and we trust that you will be too. However, if you have completed the course and feel like you have not learned anything or did not find it useful, we offer a full money refund within fifteen days.
